I learned a thing or two when I upgraded my current WordPress to the latest version.
Firstly the most apparent was that that I was not able to view or compose post. When using Firefox, the box was there but the text was like there on minute and disappear the next. I checked with another browser, Chrome, and all was fine, so at least I didn’t panic.
Then as I was checking out the new options available, I got an error saying that my blog was not available. Now I started to panic. It said something about “wp-config” config error. My first instinct was to google for a solution but since this was urgent and I didn’t want any downtime, I contacted my web hosting company instead via their chat and I was lucky enough to get one very helpful chap. He checked my url and after looking at the files via ftp, he noticed that the permission level was altered. I was puzzled and still am till now how that happened but he offered to change the permission setting back to the correct one which is 755.
Anyway, I upgraded another one of my blogs today and the only problem I still see is the disappearing blog post on compose mode so I reckon I will wait before upgrading the rest of my blogs.
The moral of the story? Wait for the latest version of WordPress to stabilize before upgrading, the next is to get a great hosting company with a great chat service. Find some great hosting review and choose from the top hosting company only.

That is strange LJ because i use FF also and have not had that problem yet. I also just updated to the newest version of WP. I guess i am going to have to watch it now.

still no solution to the FF probs so am using Chrome for now to write my post GP.
Although some say they don't have prob with WP or Firefox, I will still jaga2 so that the other day's incident won't happen again.. I totally freaked out when I couldn't access my blog the other day.. Dah la for 7 hours it was like that.. When I checked, lagi lah I freaked out 7 hours it's down.. Now I'm a little sad coz my traffic not as strong/many as before the incident happened..
